Catching Up

Hi everyone! It has been almost a year since I last posted. I haven't been writing much due to the increase in school as well as club responsibilities. I even missed the last 2 cours of anime and have been trying to catch up. Right now, I am on a holiday, so I will try to make some time to update on this blog. I know some of my reviews in the near future may come way "outdated" but there are several titles I really want to talk about but didn't get to in the past. Therefore, I will use this opportunity to write about them. Some reviews to expect within the next few days will be: 1. Darling in the Franxx 2. Satsuriko no Tenshi (en. Angels of Death) 3. Sword Art Online: Gun Gale Online There are also relatively older animes I want to talk about such as: 1. BTOOOM!!! 2. Youjo Senki (en. Saga of Tanya the Evil) Also, following the recent cours, I am feeling rather obliged to write the reviews for the following animes: 1. Sword Art Online: Alicization 2. O...

Violet Evergarden Anime Review

Image
So yea, usually I don't like it when people recommend me anime to watch because it just raise the expectation of the anime which can make it less enjoyable for me to watch. Violet Evergarden is one of those anime a lot of my friends actually recommend me to watch, EVEN before the it began to air. I also noticed that there are a lot of hype around this anime in the online community and so, when I decided that I would watch it, my expectations of this anime is off the roof. Let me tell you this, this is the first anime I have watched, that not only meet such a high expectations, it might very well exceed it. Violet Evergarden follows a story of the titular main character as a person who writes letter for others. It is a heavily character driven story, just as the title suggests, with minimal narrative and more feels. The anime would fall in a Slice of Life genre, if you would ask me, as it tells us Violet's journey over many short stories. What do I like about the an...

Highschool DxD Hero (Season 4) Anime Review

Image
So yea, I just finished with the new season of Highschool DxD. This time round it is made by an entirely different studio so I really feel a lot of changes has been made. In fact, I feel that I going to be reviewing an entirely new anime this time round. Highschool DxD Hero is the fourth season of Highschool DxD and it once again continues the story of Hyoudou Issei, a reincarnated devil aiming to be a High-Class Devil and a Harem King. For those who read the Light Novels, it follows closely to the storyline recorded in Volume 9 and Volume 10 of the novels. It mainly focuses on the introduction of the Hero Faction of Khaos Brigade and the rating game between Rias and Bael. To first start things off I just want to say that these particular story arc, is probably my most anticipated story arc in Highschool DxD, more specifically the fight between Rias and Bael. That automatically sets a high standard for me, and I am pretty sure, for most Highschool DxD fans out there. To be hone...

Highshcool DxD BorN (Season 3) Anime Review

Image
Damn guys! I know it has been a long time since I posted my last review. To be honest I am a little bit lazy writing since it’s the holidays. On the bright side, I finished a lot of anime recently, which means I have a lot to write about in the future. Now, let’s get our attention back to Highschool DxD BorN. Highschool DxD BorN is the third season of the renown anime Highschool DxD. It once again continues with the story of Hyoudou Issei and his journey of becoming the Harem King and a High-Class Devil. The third season follows the events recorded in Volume 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Light Novel. It addresses the conflict teased by the previous season and adds in additional material from volume 8 and well, the animators. From the get go, it is kind of obvious that this season is the most disappointing season of Highschool DxD. The previous seasons of DxD adopted 2 volumes of Light Novels for each season while season 3 opted for 4 volumes with an additional original content. This is...

Highschool DxD New (Season 2) Anime Review

Image
Alright, let's head to the second season of the probably best ecchii anime of all time. This time round, I think I am going to keep it short. I will probably just add in a few stuff from what I had already written for Season 1. Mainly, I will focus on what hit or miss the mark this time round in Season 2. Highchool DxD New is the continuation of the original Highschool DxD and it continues to follow the story of Hyoudou Issei and his journey as a devil. The second season of Highschool DxD focus on the next two story arcs covered in the Light Novel and it introduces new characters some of which were already teased in the previous season. It also further delves into the perspectives of the third huge faction in the world of DxD, which is the Church. Season 2 follows up with a thickening plot for the main story itself, introducing the main antagonist of the entire series entirely. What do I like about Season 2? I like that the anime keeps up with a good plot. In fact I b...
